Dancing Goat Cabin welcomes you with its wide open mountain views, rustic rural charm & aroma of cedar beam log cabin, central heat and A/C, beautiful garden and a great location in the high country! Expansive outdoor private open space for kids to explore & adults to enjoy cabin grounds. Easy driveway. Excellent location in heart of town, 2 mins from the historic Original Mast General store and Valle Crucis park with Watauga river, 10 mins to downtown Boone & Banner Elk & 20 mins to Blowing Rock and Blue Ridge parkway. Valle Crucis was settled 200 years back and is listed on the National Registrar of Historic places. Valle Crucis is beautiful place to live and to visit and the name means Valley of the Christ.
The cabin has three spacious bedrooms and two full bathrooms on about 1500 sq ft. It has gorgeous all around views of the mountains and River Run farm from the sitting area and from both bedrooms. There are thoroughbred horses grazing in the farm in the backdrop of the mountains. The mountain country setting of the cabin evokes feeling of nostalgia and escape to a classic American getaway. There was a small goat farm across from the cabin and we loved to watch the playful goats that inspired us to name it the Dancing Goat cabin. The goat farm is gone now!
This cabin is a perfect spot for a family or even two families as the master with king bed with ensuite bathroom is on one side of the living area and the other two bedrooms (with a queen bed and two twin beds) are situated on the other side with a separate bathroom. Both bathrooms have deep soaking Jacuzzi brand tubs to relax at the end of the day.
The cabin kitchen is spacious and you will find everything you need for preparing a family meal. We also have a Jenn Air gas grill with piped gas on the deck for our guests to cook while enjoying the mountain view. The gentle sloped and paved driveway leads to a flat parking area that can easily accommodate two vehicles. This is an accessible cabin. Access to the cabin is through an entry ramp from the covered porch. There are no steps to climb and no stairs inside the cabin. Relax and soak up the mountain fresh air and the Appalachian countryside views and make memories that will last a lifetime!
The cabin sits on an acre of land and provides complete privacy yet easy access and close to all the attractions (see the "Things to do" link for attractions). It is less than a mile from the original Mast General Store. There are several outdoor areas to enjoy in the cabin- a hammock for a lazy day, a trellis with a swing set with mountain views and a fire pit for those starry night gatherings. The cabin has a rural country charm along with modern amenities like dual band wi-fi through high speed fiber connection, Samsung 4K ultra HD smart TV with Roku, Sling and Amazon movies and charging station for all your devices. There is a dedicated work space if you wish to work from the mountains!
